Overall, Throttled is an okay sports romance.“I’m sorry to tell you this but he didn’t make it.” The doctor says offering me a sympathetic look. She has her backbone moments, but they are few and far between. Maya is also a doormat for most of the novel. I cannot tell you how many times Noah shows up in a room and she can only think about how hot and sexy he is at the detriment of everything else. Maya’s inner monologue comes off as juvenile sometimes, especially when Noah is involved at the beginning of the novel. Throttled is fairly slow at times and lacks the amount of angst I would expect from a romance this long. Unfortunately for Throttled, the long page count doesn’t work for the story. 466 pages is on the long side for a romance, but that doesn’t automatically mean it’s not good. The biggest issue I had with Throttled was how long it was. Instead, Throttled is an okay sports romance with a slightly annoying main character. ![]() I didn’t hate Throttled, but I didn’t love it either.
